Within the context of the 2019 United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) World Congress that took place in Durban, South Africa, Connective Cities organised a session capacity development for inclusive local service delivery

The session saw good practice presentations by practitioners from the corporate group of municipal companies (SWB) of the City of Bonn, the waste water company (EBS) on the City of Mannheim, both in Germany, as well as Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP) in Kenya and the waste management services of the City of uMhlathuze, South Africa. Here, the participants received input on innovative approaches to increase the efficiency, reliability and sustainability of local service delivery.

The experts worked on the success factors and opportunities of these four practices, aiming to provide concrete answers to four main questions.
