In view of the current situation worldwide, attendance formats for international meetings are neither sensible nor formally possible. Nevertheless, we are continuing our offer in Asia and are restructuring the ongoing learning process on the topic of Green Urban Infrastructure from a face-to-face event to virtual formats.

For this reason, Connective Cities invites municipal practitioners from Asia and Germany to participate in the virtual planning workshop "Green Urban Infrastructure in Asian Cities - Project Planning of Municipal Adaptation Measures". The upcoming virtual event is a follow-up to the dialogue event in Bandung, Indonesia last November, where municipal practitioners came together to exchange examples of good practices and to develop new project ideas with mutual support.

The upcoming planning workshop aims to further develop these project ideas by revising strategic approaches with the support of regional and international experts from municipal practice. The virtual planning workshop starts with an introductory event on 3rd August 2020 and includes four additional online-seminars.

Online-seminar dates: 3rd August / 5th August / 7th August / 11th August / 13th August Time: 09:00 – 11:00 a.m. (MESZ/CEST)

The following project ideas will be presented at the virtual planning workshop and jointly developed further:

  1. Project: Collaboration for the Sustainability of Wetland Park Cisurupa in Bandung, Indonesia
  2. Project: Reduction of Waste at Sanitary Landfill Site by Managing Waste at Source in Dhangadhi, Nepal
  3. Project: Satu Jamuntuk Sejuta Sampah (One Period for Million Garbages to Save the Environment) in Kendari, Indonesia
  4. Project: Sorting and Processing Waste from Sources at Balikpapan City Slum Location in Balikpapan, Indonesia
  5. Project: Enhancement of 3R Promotion in Palembang City with Integrated 3R Independence temporary Disposal Site (3R-ITDS) and Climate Village Program in Palembang, Indonesia
  6. Project: Promoting Eco Tourism of Danau Sipin Lake by Reducing Water Pollution in Jambi, Indonesia

With this call we are looking for German practitioners who can support and advance one of these six project ideas with their expertise in the virtual project planning workshop.
The working language of the event will be English.

Please find more information in our Call for Participants [pdf] and in the Workshop Agenda [pdf].
