Promoting peer-to-peer exchange

The utility platform held its second virtual networking event on 19 August 2021

On 19 August 2021, the Utility Platform held its second virtual networking event. Forty-five people from four partnerships attended in order to talk about their experiences in the pilot project.

After Felix Reifschneider (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development) welcomed the participants in a short opening address, Heiko Heidemann (GIZ - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit ) and Silvia Boehmsdorff (Service Agency Communities in One World) gave a report on the status of the project.

The event focused on the projects of the partnerships. Each partnership gave insights into their project activities, shared their goals and challenges, especially due to continuing travel restrictions.

After a break, the participants met in working groups to further the exchange across partnerships on the topics of non-revenue water, asset management, public relations and employee development. The in-depth discussion highlighted synergies among the four partnerships and the participants wished for more time to discuss thematic topics and share experiences with colleagues from other partnerships in future.
