Dear readers,
Cities play a central role in address climate change, and the realization of climate resilient development. This message was prominently reflected by German and African political leaders that took part in our panel discussion at the inaugural Africa Climate Summit, among others. At the Connective Cities network meeting, participants from our network in Germany agreed that, for cities to fulfil this centralized role, interdisciplinary and international exchange between experts and municipal practitioners is essential. Such forms of exchange will bring together all stakeholders involved towards a common understanding.
As part of the Insight Session on the Making Cities Resilient 2030 initiative, the UNDRR showed how you can measure your city's resilience, to prepare for future risks using a three-stage "resilience roadmap" and, and what steps can be taken by your city to better protect itself. The initiative's network is open to all interested cities worldwide.

Sustainable development also requires social cohesion. The cities of Augsburg, Markt Diedorf and São Leopoldo have intensified their dialogue on this. Measures to achieve sustainable, inclusive and gender-equitable urban development was the focus of our three-day workshop in the MENA region. Our video gives you some impressions.
German and international municipal actors are cordially invited to our next dialogue event, which will focus on resource-efficient construction with wood and other bio-based building materials.
We wish you inspiring reading
