From 13 to 15 November 2023, the international community of practice Connective Cities, in cooperation with the host the city of Potsdam, the Bauhaus Earth and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research - PIK, is organising a dialogue event on resource-efficient construction with wood and other bio-based building materials.

The event is geared towards German and international municipal actors working on different aspects of the utilization of bio-based materials and recyclables in the construction sector. The aim of the event is to present good practice examples, to exchange ideas on innovative approaches, to identify challenges and to jointly develop solution strategies.

Thematic priorities are:

  • Technological innovations and new opportunities for health-, people- and nature- centred buildings and cities
  • Urban development opportunities through strengthening regional, bio-based value chains and ensuring social inclusion along the urban-rural nexus
  • Bio-based construction through innovative legislation and financing
  • Procurement and sustainable sourcing

If you are interested in participating in the event, please contact us as soon as possible and no later than the 15 of October 2023, indicating a project that corresponds to one of the topics of the thematic priorities.

The working language of the event is English. All further information can be found in the call for participants. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact us:
