Connective Cities
INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT
NEWSLETTER - EDITION No. 69, February 2024

Dear Readers,

In this issue, we delve into the multifaceted aspects of urban development that are both socially just and environmentally friendly.

Looking back, we reflect on a lively exchange of expertise aimed at promoting women in municipal leadership positions in the MENA region, as well as the development of a vision for ecotourism in Kufranja, Northern Jordan.

Furthermore, we shed light on how the knowledge of indigenous communities in the Peruvian Amazon, such as in the realms of indigenous medicine and biodiversity, can be made accessible to all residents through inclusive practices.

We also showcase how the Nepalese city of Banepa is renovating its old town in traditional construction methods and how professionals in Southeast Europe are exchanging ideas to advance the transition to renewable energies in their cities.

Additionally, we cordially invite you to a virtual expert exchange on "Circular Economy and Carbon Accounting in Cities." We also encourage all participants of the one-year learning process on "Medium- to Long-Term Emergency Shelters for Evacuees" to collectively review the progress made.

Best regards,

Your Connective Cities Team
