In the current urban debate in Asia the topic of green cities is of high relevance in view of a dynamic urbanization process. Addressing green topics in cities comprises the process of “Greening Cities” (as to transform urban structure and land use) and issues of “Promoting Urban Green Growth” (as to develop green production systems). This regional dialogue event seeks to explore experiences and different success factors of these two approaches, focusing on a) Furnishing urban functions such as buildings and infrastructure with green technology and b) Promoting green production techniques and business models and c) Strengthening Good Urban Governance. Good practice examples serve as basis for an exchange of experiences, supplemented through peer-to-peer consultations as well as the development of joint project ideas.
