Many cities around the world lack the capacities needed for an effective urban planning and management that ensures access to essential services for all citizens. This is a pressing issue, especially in Sub-Sahara Africa, that demands innovative solutions dealing with the questions of how public services are provided, who delivers them and how they are financed. This regional dialogue event seeks to explore the different success factors that underlie a sustainable, effective and efficient public service delivery, focusing on a) management and b) financing of public services as well as c) different operation schemes. Good practice examples serve as basis for an exchange of experiences, supplemented through peer-to-peer consultations as well as the development of joint project ideas.
