Sustainable Urban Energy Planning in Southeast Europe (SEE)

Invitation to the planning workshop from 2 to 4 November 2021

The Project Planning Workshop is the continuation of the Dialogue Event which was held in May 2021 and provided a virtual platform for the municipalities of the SEE region to exchange their experience and ideas on renewable energy sources and energy ecient city development.

As a follow-up measure, a three-day virtual Planning Work-shop will aim at fine tuning selected project ideas presented during the dialogue event and developing them further towards bankable project proposals. The presented project ideas from the municipalities of Belarus, Geor-gia, Kosovo and Ukraine cover the following range of topics:

The Planning Workshop will specically focus on energy eciency, renewable energy, climate nance and project proposal writing. The thematic topics discussed during the workshop will cover:

  1. Climate finance landscape for SEE municipalities, access to nance, various climate funds.
  2. Good practices from municipalities in climate change mitigation and their role in NDC implementation.
  3. A panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities for the Municipalities to receive loans or other forms of nancial support.
  4. Project proposal writing (training, as well as a practical elaboration of project ideas).
  5. Peer-learning from local, German and international urban practitioners.
