As part of the program 'Municipal Recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic’, a working group on sustainable waste management (SWM) in MENA has been established. A multi-session expert mission is planned to facilitate discussing challenges related to SWM and developing local action plan by the working group’s members. The first session, taking place on the 26^th October 2021, aims at providing an overview of the situation and paving the ground for planning the activities of the working group. The session will include presentations by the participating municipalities on the status quo of waste management as well as a presentation by the German expert Mr. Theo Schneider from Ressource Abfall GmbH.
