A combined system of thermal panels (SWH) with heat pumps (HP) and photovoltaic panels (PV) was installed on the site of Navahrudak district hospital. It was the first time that such a combined project using SWH, HP and PV was implemented in Belarus. Now two buildings of the district hospital have independent heating, electricity system and hot water supply.
One of the steps towards the city’s “greener” future was the modernization of the district hospital. As the hospital consists out of several separate buildings, the two most relevant ones were chosen: the building of the surgery and intensive care unit and the building of the maternity ward. The constant supply of hot water and electricity is especially important here and according to the data these buildings consume more electricity and hot water than any of the others. This time experts offered a new system for the implementation. It is offbeat (for Belarus) and fully complies with the “green energy facilities” standards since thermal panels and heat pumps are used to heat hot water, and the photovoltaic panels power plant supplies the heat pumps with electricity. Finally, 40 thermal panels with a capacity of 117.6 kW, 2 heat pumps with a capacity of 18 kW each, auxiliary equipment and 168 photovoltaic panels with an electric capacity of 45.8 kW were installed.
Creation of favorable conditions for providing high quality medical service
Creation of favorable conditions for environment protection and energy saving

The implementation of the project proves the multifaceted benefits of using “green technologies” on the site of social institutions. Such projects not only reduce the energy consumption and the environmental impact, but also have several social benefits.
