In 2022, our partner organisation, the Service Agency Communities in One World, will be launching the ninth project phase of its Municipal Climate Partnerships Programme, which has been successful since 2011.

In a municipal climate partnership, two municipalities work together closely on a regular basis in the areas of climate protection and climate adaptation. The cooperation can take place within the framework of an official town twinning or a thematic partnerships. In order to develop the action programmes, municipal experts will be sent abroad, national or regional network meetings and international workshops are planned to be held.

Participation is open to municipalities from Germany that already have partnerships with municipalities from African or Latin American countries or wish to establish a new partnership.

A virtual introductory workshop for interested German municipalities will take place from 22 to 23 February 2022. 

The letter of interest from the German municipality should be submitted by 31 March 2022.
