As part of the funding instrument "Sustainable Municipal Development through Partnership Projects" (Nakopa), the Service Agency Communities in One World (SKEW) offers support for municipal partnership projects and funds projects with up to 250,000 euros. Applications can be submitted until September 30, 2023, at the latest.

Support is available for development policy projects that German municipalities jointly develop with their partner municipalities in the Global South, focusing on the following areas:

• Sustainable provision of public services
• Good local governance
• Climate protection and climate adaptation
• Fair trade and fair procurement
• Hygiene, prevention, and health protection

Funding is granted for:

• Projects with funding of 50,000 to 100,000 euros and a simplified application procedure. Projects may not exceed a maximum duration of up to 24 months.
• Projects with funding in the amount of 100,000 to 250,000 euros. Projects should have a duration of 24 to 36 months and must be completed by June 30, 2027.

Applications must be submitted by the German partner municipality and can be submitted until 30 September 2023, at the latest, and require the submission of a project outline by 31 July 2023.
