SDG monitoring in German municipalities

Is your city on the way to implementing Agenda 2030?

The 17 sustainable development goals are at the heart of Agenda 2030, adopted by the United Nations in 2015. The so-called SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) refer to very different topics such as poverty, health, education, energy, work or international partnerships. It is clear that our municipalities and cities are important actors in the implementation of the SDGs. But how can results be measured and compared?

For the implementation of the Agenda 2030 in German municipalities, a monitoring system is developed that defines indicators or key figures with which the achievement of sustainability goals can be mapped and monitored.

This "SDG Indicators for Communities" project is being jointly developed by the Bertelsmann Stiftung, the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development, the Deutscher Landkreistag, the Deutscher Städtetag, the Deutscher Städtebund, the German Institute for Urban Affairs and Engagement Global and their Service Agency Communities in One World.

The comparison portal is only available in German.
