This session will focus on the impact of the pandemic on the tourism sector. In addition to the loss of revenue and jobs, there is particular concern about the uncertain future. Local governments play a crucial role in disseminating information and supporting national strategies, while at the same time contributing to the recovery of the tourism industry at local level through fiscal measures. Many local authorities are currently rethinking existing concepts in order to adapt tourism to the needs of local communities and to make it more sustainable.
