Urban October 2022 @GIZ

Join us from 4 October to 2 November and discover a diverse variety of formats and exciting topics on sustainable urban development!

Cities are our future. Already today, more than half of the world’s population lives in cities. The role of cities as the main habitat of future generations stresses the importance of building cities that are sustainable. This defines urbanisation as one of the most important dynamics of our time.

With this urgency in mind, the United Nations launched the “Urban October”; a month of events dedicated to the theme of sustainable urban development. For this, UN-HABITAT calls upon its partner organisations to organise activities on the theme of sustainable urbanisation to promote cooperations and the exchange of expertise.

For the fifth time in a row, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) contributes its own programme, organised by several GIZ projects and external partners.

A diverse variety of formats and exciting topics and insights into the work of GIZ in the field of urban development await you. Connective Cities organises the session Zero -Waste City - An elusive goal for municipalities? on the 4th of October.
