Call for Participation: Municipal Exchange to Strengthen Resilience and Capacity for Rebuilding Communities in Ukraine from 16 to 18 July 2024, in Warsaw, Poland

Overview:

Connective Cities cordially invites municipal experts from Ukraine, Germany, and Europe to participate in the workshop on "Resilience in Times of War." The workshop will be held as part of municipal project development from 16 to 18 July 2024, in Warsaw, Poland.

Building on the previous event in November 2023, where municipal practitioners from Ukraine developed initial approaches for local solutions, the upcoming workshop aims to develop project ideas in the areas of local economy, renewable energy, and strategic urban development.

Participation and Contact:

Interested parties are requested to apply by 15 May 2024. Accommodation, meals, and transportation costs during the conference will be covered by Connective Cities. Please send your application or inquiries to:

Themes:

The workshop aims to utilize good practices from municipal experience and strengthen municipal solutions. Expertise is particularly sought in the following areas:

1. Local Economic Promotion and Site Development:

  • Municipal business and investment climate
  • Analysis of requirements of the local private sector
  • Promotion of private sector
  • Establishment of a transparent framework for business creation
  • Development of a regional development strategy

2. Promotion of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency:

  • Stronger collaboration between city administrations and private enterprises
  • Local production and utilization of energy sources
  • Training of building managers in energy-saving practices

3. Urban Development and Infrastructure Promotion:

  • Streamlined planning procedures
  • Infrastructure development to promote the economy
  • Planning of pilot projects
