Urban Mobility improvement in Bogotá

Stakeholder meeting for the reflection on existing mobility data and discussions for further collaborative action.

Information on mobility movements, user satisfaction and the accessibility of people with disabilities to public transport are important for sustainable urban mobility planning. The questions of which data on urban mobility already exist, which data is needed and who already might have such data, remain.

After 10 years of existing urban Mobility Observatory in Bogotá, the city is taking advantage of this meeting to reflect on past experiences, exchanges with colleagues from the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil and the invitation of other actors to participate in the observatory. The aim is to use the data already available in the various institutions through networking, exchange and cooperation for better sustainable urban development.

About 25 actors of the city administration of Bogotá, civil society of State Ministries of Government, University and representatives of the Latin-American Development Bank (CAF) meet on 26 February for a specialist exchange, then to develop proposals for the further co-operation the following day in a smaller working round. Connective cities supports this initiative as part of its change projects. This project idea was proposed at an earlier event in Latin America.
