Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic the world is facing many and sometimes different challenges (e.g. movement and travel restrictions) throughout different regions. Dealing with this new and unfamiliar situation requires reorientation and redefinition of our event formats, in order to maintain the intended peer2peer exchange and joint learning processes according to the methodological approach of Connective Cities. A conceptual and thematic adaptation of our upcoming events was developed to offer a newly defined virtual alternative to the recently postponed face-to-face events.

Regional Events will be based on relevant focus topics according to the needs and priorities of each region, where navigating through the current pandemic will also be tackled. The dialogue and exchange events will be announced in due time through our online channels (homepage, Facebook, etc.).

The mobilisation of municipal urban experts/practitioners can only thrive through stronger networking with different stakeholders worldwide as well as with other regional expert networks ("Communities of Practice"). A virtual network will soon be established by Connective Cities as a long-term and sustainable knowledge exchange platform for urban practitioners and experts. This Network will provide a platform for interactive peer2peer consultations and knowledge transfer through various digital tools. Our aim is to also expand and strengthen networking among urban practitioners in the regions to encourage joint learning and exchange with a regional or thematic approach (South-South consultations), as well as bring together municipal expertise from Germany with that of partner countries.
