Connective Cities Practitioners' Workshop in Jordan

Overview

Municipal stakeholders met on Dead Sea to share valuable insights on integrated solid waste management. The first Connective Cities dialogue event in the Middle East took place from 22 - 24 May 2016 in Jordan. Participants from 7 municipalities in Jordan and 4 German municipalities gathered to share their practice-oriented approaches and good practices regarding integrated waste management and recycling.

Results

The main focus was on the planning of municipal waste management, waste separation, recycling and depot management. Another point of interest was the cooperation with the population, especially as far as awareness raising and public participation regarding sustainable waste management is concerned. The experts jointly elaborated on future approaches for integrated waste management on the municipal level.
