Sustainable Mobility in Southeastern Europe

Review of the core group's meeting on April 27, 2021

Representatives of Kutaisi in Georgia, Lviv in Ukraine and Kruševac in Serbia are working on projects concerning the topics of mobility and the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) and had a session with a German expert team providing them with consultation and input towards refinement of their projects on April 27th 2021.

The meeting focused on:

  • Presenting core results of the preliminary individual interviews with each representative
  • Looking deeper into projects of each city
  • Joint prioritization of future focus topics
  • Agreeing on next steps for the Core Sustainable Mobility Group

 At the end of the workshop all participants were eager to expand their invitation to other municipalities working on relevant projects to join the group and future actions of the group were determined.

Program

The expert mission focused on discussion of several fields that participants had expressed their interest in, such as:

  • Bike Sharing
  • Traffic redistribution
  • Public transport for rural areas in the vicinity & etc.

Results

During this meeting representatives of three municipalities shared their ideas and insights on relevant projects. Participants exchanged recommendations with each another on local projects being implemented by them in their respective municipalities. The expert talk was concluded with agreement on extension and expansion of their future meetings and events.
